Mission Statement

Citizens Reach Out (CRO) was founded by a group of San Francisco Bay Area professional writers, artists, and humanitarian activists to address the issues of war and its consequences for ordinary citizens who live through them.

Our educational mission is to create an oral history archive through video and digital recordings of the stories of refugees living in our communities within the United States and to make them public through our website, and the Berkeley Library Catalog and OskiCat.

We create events that highlight our refugee stories through music and film, as well as inform the public of campaigns to help individual refugees with their medical and educational needs.
